In The Mall's Parking Lot

*As Zeke* I lean against the mall, applying the new lime green friction tape I bought to my skate board.

Gabriella:*i drive up in my car and get out then see him* "oh hi"

I nod at you through my long, black hair and then pull out a roll of black friction tape. I sit down and start using it to create a green/black pattern.

"um are there a lot of people in the mall right now"

"Eh." I say in a low voice. "Some." I go back to my board.

"ok thanks" *i get a skate board out of my car*

I watch you from underneath my bangs. "You a boarder?"

"ya,but no one konws"

"So you're not a skater poser, you just don't want anyone to know you skate. Lame." I say flatly.

"excuse me"

"Sorry." I say. "You should tell everyone."

"i can't i'm tring to be like my parents wanted me to be"

"Eventually your soul will rot from the inside out because of the pain of your lies." I say, my eyes dark.

"i know but it's the least i could do for them"

"Be their puppet then." I say.

*i sigh* "you can't be a dead person's puppet"

"Oh." I say in a dull tone. "Sorry, I guess." I put away the tape, and grab a package of decals.

"ya,my parents died 3 yerars ago but before they left we had a fight and the last thing i said to them was 'I hate you' "

I nod. "That sounds like something that only happens in movies. I guess it must be hard, feeling like they died because you didn't love them. Do you ask yourself, 'If I had said something nice, would they still be alive?'"

"yes i do"

I stand up, putting one foot one my board. "Well don't. They're dead and they know you loved them."

"ok" *i start walking off*

"Bye." I say.

*i walk into the mall and buy some red friction tape*

*stays outside to keep decorating board, switching out its wheels*
